Introduction

Your business has a massive body of research sitting on colleagues' computers or hard-to-navigate shared drives. With KnowledgeHound, those valuable insights are centralized and standardized to make answering your business question as easy as typing it into the search bar. But that's just the beginning โ€“ we're here to ensure you get the most out of your KnowledgeHound experience through personalized content preferences.

This article will guide you through understanding how content preferences work, their impact on your experience, and how to set them up to make the most of your valuable insights.

How Content Preferences Work

Understanding Metadata

In KnowledgeHound, metadata is the unique organizational framework your business employs to categorize research. Each study is manually tagged with metadata specific to your organization, making it easier to locate and manage projects on the platform.

For instance, consider a brand health tracker study covering the brands Acme and Globex across North America, Europe, and Asia. This study might be tagged with metadata such as:

  • Geography: North America, EMEA, APAC

  • Study Type: Brand Health Tracker

  • Brand: Acme, Globex

Personalized content preferences enable you to harness the power of these metadata tags by selecting relevant ones to customize your research experience.

The Benefits of Content Preferences

Elevated Relevance

Selecting content preferences has two main effects:

  • Elevated Content: Research tagged with your preferences will be prioritized* when browsing on the Study Home, which can be accessed at any time by clicking "Studies" from your top toolbar.

  • Notification of Updates: Stay informed about relevant project updates, ensuring you never miss out on crucial insights.

*Preference priority can easily be toggled off by switching "Preferences first" off.

Setting Up and Using Content Preferences

Accessing Preferences

Setting up your content preferences is a straightforward process. You can access the preference selection menu by clicking the person icon from the Studies page, and the Personal Settings page.

Making Your Selections

From the preferences menu, choose the tags that matter most to you to tailor your experience. You can revisit this page at any time to update your preferences. Additionally, if you want a broader view of content, toggle your preferences off temporarily while browsing through studies.

By customizing your content preferences, you unlock the full potential of KnowledgeHound, ensuring that your research experience is not only efficient but also tailored to your unique needs. Feel free to revisit and adjust your preferences as your projects evolve, providing you with a continuously optimized research experience.
